Accurate Partial-Flow Dilution
The MDLT-ONE samples a controlled portion of the total exhaust flow instead of processing the complete exhaust volume.
- Dilutes sampled exhaust with HEPA-filtered air
- Maintains controlled flow through particulate filters
- Supports proportional sampling with a constant split ratio
- Supports fixed dilution-ratio and fixed-flow operation
- Provides real-time control using an exhaust-flow signal
- Can use a previously recorded exhaust-flow pattern
- Supports diluted-gas flow rates from 25 to 80 L/min under specified reference conditions
- Confirms dilution-ratio accuracy using CO2 measurement
- Calculates PM mass results using integrated flow and dilution data
Fast Control During Transient Testing
Rapid changes in engine operation can produce equally rapid changes in exhaust flow. The MDLT-ONE combines high-precision venturi flow measurement with a piezo-actuated valve to respond to these changing conditions.
- Fast flow-control response during transient operation
- Accurate control of the proportional sampling ratio
- Consistent filter-flow management
- Suitable for transient engine and vehicle test cycles
- Supports synchronization with compatible exhaust-flow measurement systems
Flow-Weighted Sampling
Flow-weighted sampling allows particulate matter from multiple phases of an FTP test to be collected on a single filter.
- Adjusts filter sampling flow according to phase-weighting targets
- Supports consistent filter-face velocity across the test phases
- Reduces the number of separate filter-weighing procedures
- Eliminates some manual weighting calculations
- Helps improve workflow efficiency for multi-phase testing
Automatic Filter Handling
An optional automatic filter changer helps laboratories run extended test sequences with less operator intervention.
- Supports as many as 28 tests without manual filter replacement
- Can be installed within the main equipment rack
- Reduces interruptions between tests
- Supports automated and unattended test sequences
- Helps maintain a compact system footprint
Automatic Calibration
The MDLT-ONE can automatically compare its two venturi flow meters by flowing air through them in series.
- Identifies differences between the venturi measurements
- Applies software correction to compensate for the difference
- Supports repeatable system-quality checks
- Can be incorporated into an automated test template
- Reduces manual calibration steps
Compact, Flexible Installation
The heated filter system and flow controllers are integrated into one cabinet.
- Single-rack design reduces equipment footprint
- Swiveling tunnel connection supports flexible positioning
- Suitable for engine and vehicle test-cell layouts
- Up to six filter lines, depending on configuration
- Supports primary and backup filter arrangements
- Available with different filter-holder configurations
- Optional dilution-air conditioning and compressed-air equipment
