Modern battery testing laboratories rely on multiple systems working together. Battery cyclers, environmental chambers, temperature controllers, battery management systems (BMS), and measurement devices must be coordinated to execute complex test sequences while maintaining synchronized data acquisition and repeatable test conditions. As testing programs become more demanding, managing this equipment efficiently can become increasingly challenging.

STARS Battery is HORIBA's battery test automation software designed to simplify battery testing for cells, modules, and packs. It combines the flexibility of workflow-based and step-based test creation with centralized control of compatible HORIBA and third-party equipment, allowing engineers to develop, execute, and monitor battery tests from a single software platform.

The flexibility and fidelity of STARS Battery provide greater control over test execution, equipment operation, data logging, and in-test reporting. Workflow and step-based testing can be combined to create drive cycle and event-based battery tests from reusable blocks, while coordinating multiple battery cyclers and environmental chambers to optimize testing across temperature and humidity conditions. Built-in Microsoft Excel® and MATLAB® interfaces support automated reporting, data visualization, and simulation capabilities. STARS Battery can be supplied with new equipment or retroactively integrated into existing battery testing laboratories.
