5402 DO Tip Installation Guide

The 5402 DO tip (Part no. 3200781553) is replaceable part of 9552-20D (Part no. 3200780939) and 9552-50D (Part no. 3200780941) galvanic DO electrodes which are commonly used in field testing. To install the DO tip properly, follow the procedure below:

After removing the short socket and protective cap, insert the DO tip with O-ring into the DO electrode body as shown in the image.

Note: The O-ring is used as a seal to ensure that water cannot penetrate the DO electrode body during measurement. The DO tip cannot be fully inserted and tightened with bare hands in this step. Do not exert force to tighten the DO tip or allow its thin membrane to come in contact with any hard surface.

2.

Screw the stainless steel protective guard into the DO electrode body. This will compress the O-ring and automatically push the DO tip inside the electrode body completing the installation.

The screwed stainless protective guard not only ensures tight connection between the DO tip and the DO electrode body, but also shield the DO tip from hitting any hard surface during measurement.
