HORIBA India Technical Center Inaugurated in 2016, is a comprehensive center with facility for product demonstration and testing, a workshop for product customization and assembly, an office space, and a training center.

It is a core establishment for all types of Engines and Vehicle testing, Calibration Center for Gas Dividers, Converter Checker (GDC), Mass Flow Controller, OBS- PN (PEMS) & FTIR. Our Services includes Vehicle and Engine testing, Real Driving Emission Testing, Vehicle Engineering Services, and consultancy for turnkey solutions.

Vehicle Test Cell

VULCAN 4WD 48’’ Second-generation Chassis Dynamometer with Mass Emission Measurement System, allows emission measurement of passenger cars, hybrid cars, and light-duty vehicles. Emission Test is carried out as per Indian and other Global regulations with a dedicated soak room maintaining the temperature and humidity as per latest regulations.

Features:

Axle load of up to 3500 kg (light-duty) with 4 WD capability.
Extendable wheelbase for a variety of vehicles M1 and N1.
Suitable for current and future drive technologies, including hybrid, battery, and fuel cell electric vehicles with capability of measuring all regulated and non-regulated emission pollutants like CO, THC, NOX, O2, CO2, NH3, N2O, PM and PN…etc.
Capable to run Road to Lab simulation, Real Driving Emission Development within Laboratory.
HORIBA unique service on Road to Rig replication, Emulation (RDE, Road to vehicle Lab, and Vehicle Lab to Engine Lab) and simulation for faster RDE development for all powertrains.
Equipped with dedicated and individual sampling tunnel specifically for the testing of Diesel, Gasoline, CNG, and alternate fuels.
Equipped with lab safety protocol for fire safety, smoke detection, and gas leakage detection. Fire hydrants and fire extinguishers are interlocked within for protection of test engines and vehicles in case an emergency occurs.

Capability of Dynamic Altitude Simulation from -2000 m to 5000 m with Emission measurement.

E-Motor Test Cell

180kW E-Motor Test Bed is a state of art facility to test the regulation, performance, and endurance of e motor test specimen along with inverter. This test bed provides 429Nm of torque in both absorption and motoring modes as it is equipped with an inverter consisting of 4 quadrant IGBT’s for seamless switchover between quadrants. Test bed can operate with maximum speed of 16,000 rpm. It is equipped with DC source which can provide both source and sink mode of operation to test specimen.

Features:

Can be used to test regulatory as well as performance tests such as blocked rotor test, efficiency map, system efficiency, overload test, torque-speed characteristics at different voltage and current levels etc.
User defined test cycles can be prepared with MS Excel®.
LiON, LiFePO4, NiMH and Pb-acid battery pack models specifically calibrated for vehicle applications
Flexibility to create new battery models by identifying parameter values.
Battery simulation is available from 10 – 800V.
Source and sink operation with ± 600A is possible.

Calibration Lab for Gas Divider & Convertor Checker (GDC), Mass Flow Controller, OBS- PN (PEMS), FTIR

The new calibration facility enables HORIBA system users, calibration of master equipment with maximum uptime, hassle-free complex export & reimport process and reduces the downtime of the overall facility.
