Optical Test Technician

We are seeking a skilled Optical Test Technician with expertise in spectrometer instrumentation or laser systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in physics, and electronics testing, and good hands-on troubleshooting skills.

Successful candidates will be trained to align, calibrate, and configure spectrometer-based systems, detectors, software, and accessories.

 

Requirement:

  1. Perform alignment, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of spectrometer-based instrumentation, some of which are laser-coupled based on the customer’s requirements.

  2. Collaborate with engineers to identify and resolve technical issues related to instrument performance.

  3. Knowledge of computers, electronics, optics, and lasers, including laser safety protocols, practices, and procedures.

  4. Mechanical dexterity.

  5. Generate detailed reports on optical test results based on system performance. 

 

Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience in optics, and physics. 

  2. Preferred experience as an optical test technician, with a focus on spectrometer instruments and/or laser systems, equipment, or tools.

  3. Familiarity with optical testing equipment and measurement tools such as digital multimeters and lock-in amplifiers.

  4. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  5. Ability to work independently and be part of a collaborative team.

  6. Excellent documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  7. Ability to work well under pressure and be able to strive to meet standard labor times.
