MEXA-ONE-XL-NX

Laser Exhaust Gas Analyzer for Real-Time Nitrogen Compound Measurement

Developing and calibrating modern exhaust aftertreatment systems requires more than measuring total NOx. Engineers need to understand how individual nitrogen compounds change during transient operation, low-temperature conditions and high engine loads.

The MEXA-ONE-XL-NX, also known as MEXA-ONE IRLAM simultaneously measures NO, NO2, N2O and NH3 in real time, helping engineers evaluate NOx conversion, monitor ammonia slip and identify N2O formation. Its wide measurement range supports measurements from low-concentration tailpipe emissions to higher engine-out and pre-catalyst concentrations.

Powered by HORIBA’s IRLAM™ (Infrared Laser Absorption Modulation) technology, the analyzer delivers low-noise, high-sensitivity measurement with minimal interference. This provides reliable data for engine calibration, catalyst development, aftertreatment optimization, next-generation fuel research and emissions compliance testing.

As part of HORIBA ONE PLATFORM, the MEXA-ONE-XL-NX can be integrated with other compatible HORIBA measurement systems through a common user interface. This enables centralized control, monitoring and management of emissions measurement equipment while supporting future system expansion.

Complete Nitrogen Compound Measurement in Real Time

The MEXA-ONE-XL-NX simultaneously measures NO, NO2, N2O and NH3, giving engineers synchronized data from a single analyzer for understanding engine and aftertreatment performance.

Synchronized real-time measurements of NO, NO2, N2O and NH3 during changing engine operating conditions.

Example of synchronized, real-time nitrogen compound measurement during changing operating conditions.

  • Wide measurement ranges support engine-out, pre-catalyst, post-catalyst and tailpipe applications
  • Fast response captures changes during transient operating conditions
  • One analyzer supports the evaluation of NOx conversion, ammonia slip and N2O formation
  • Synchronized measurement data can be correlated with engine conditions and control events
