HORIBA Jobin Yvon IBH Ltd is a leading manufacturer of advanced instrumentation for single-photon counting, timing and imaging. All three modalities are exploited
to spectacular effect in our latest product – Flimera - a SPAD-based single-photon counting camera designed to make Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM)
routine and accessible. Flimera uses revolutionary “in-pixel” timing circuitry to both miniaturize and scale-up conventional TCSPC detection, thereby eliminating the need
to mechanically scan either the sample or the laser spot. We call this wide-field technique “FLASH-FLIM” in recognition of its operation method and the speed advantage it confers*.
*FLASH refers to Fluorescence Lifetime Acquisition by Simultaneous Histogramming and is demonstrated in a Scientific paper (Methods Appl. Fluoresc., 2021, 9, 015002).
Founded in 1977 as an early spin-out from Strathclyde University, we joined HORIBA in 2003 and have expanded steadily as our technology
became widely used within other HORIBA Group products.
As well as supplying a full range of components (such as picosecond lasers, time-to-digital converters, detectors etc) we manufacture our own range of complete Fluorescence Lifetime Spectrometers that we ship worldwide.
Our products are designed and assembled in Glasgow by our talented team of engineers and technicians. We work with local suppliers and subcontractors as much
as possible, and we take pride in the quality and reliability of the products we make.
In order to meet demand we located to a more expansive city centre location in 2015, close to local universities and hotels with excellent transport links. Our fully equipped laboratory and super-experienced applications scientists are at your disposal should you wish to get in touch for advice or run some sample measurements.
