Ultrasonic Exhaust Flow Meter for Real-Time Emissions Measurement

Accurate mass-emissions measurement requires exhaust-flow data that can keep pace with rapid changes in engine and vehicle operation. The EXFM-ONE measures exhaust gas flow directly from a vehicle or engine in real time, helping engineers capture transient flow behavior and calculate raw exhaust mass emissions.

Using ultrasonic measurement technology, the EXFM-ONE provides a wide flow range from 0 to 10 m³/min and a response time of less than 0.5 seconds (t₁₀–₉₀). Combined with the MEXA-ONE, Motor Exhaust Gas Analyzer, it supports real-time mass-emissions measurement and detailed analysis of engine and catalyst behavior.

The EXFM-ONE can also provide flow control data for partial-flow dilution systems such as the MDLT or BMD. When paired with an optional air-to-fuel ratio analyzer, it enables real-time fuel-consumption evaluation without requiring a dedicated fuel-flow measurement system.

As part of HORIBA ONE PLATFORM, the EXFM-ONE can be integrated with other compatible HORIBA measurement systems through a common user interface. This enables centralized control, monitoring and management of measurement and quality-check results while supporting efficient test-system operation.

When combined with a compatible exhaust gas analyzer, the EXFM-ONE provides the flow data required to convert measured gas concentrations into real-time mass emissions.

Real-Time Fuel-Consumption Evaluation

When combined with an optional air-to-fuel ratio analyzer, the EXFM-ONE can calculate fuel consumption using measured exhaust-flow and air-fuel-ratio data.
