HORIBA, a leading supplier and innovator for complete test solutions, has acquired the stakes of HUEHOCO ANT in the Brake Test Center in Floersheim. This makes HORIBA the sole operator of the state-of-the-art facility near Frankfurt. The company takes over two brake test stands from HUEHOCO ANT as well as all employees in the testing field.
With the acquisition, HORIBA is able to double its existing test capacity for a wide variety of brake tests in accordance with its vision: Making the World Cleaner and More Efficient. In addition to the standard range of brake tests, brake dust measurements are also available. HUEHOCO ANT is withdrawing from testing to put even more effort into the development and production of NVH products for the brake market. HUEHOCO ANT will keep its application engineering at Floersheim, to provide the service required by the market. Due to the increasing demands from customers, HORIBA plans to extend the Brake Test Center in Floersheim with an additional test stand this summer.
New Brake Dust testing application putting Floersheim on the map
Brake Dust measurements are carried out with the HORIBA MEXA-2x00SPCS. This Solid Particle Counting System takes Brake Dust measurement technology to the next level by counting the particles within a size range between 10nm to 2.5µm. In order to obtain an optimal measurement result, particles with a size over 2.5µm are excluded by the application. This way HORIBA can detect the amount of fine dust produced during the braking process.
