HORIBA is committed to sparking a lifelong love for science and technology in young learners through its innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As part of this program, HORIBA Europe GmbH recently donated durable beam scales specially designed for elementary school purposes. These hands-on learning tools empower children to explore science by comparing weights and masses and mastering fundamental scientific concepts in a playful and engaging way.
This initiative not only enhances education but also promotes sustainability. Each student received a bag of wildflower seeds - a small yet meaningful gesture to inspire children to care for the environment. These seeds serve as a tangible reminder that even small efforts can contribute to a sustainable future.
Kerstin Herrig, school management at Nibelungen School Biebesheim Germany, emphasized the impact of these educational tools:
“The new scales enable us to implement activity-oriented mathematics lessons with a high level of relevance to the real world for all children. Materials such as the new scales are particularly important in times of great performance heterogeneity, as all children can achieve motivating learning success with the same object. During the handover, the students have already enjoyed expanding their practical skills in the subject of weighing and measuring. We are convinced that the scales help to introduce children to scientific subjects at an early age and at the same time increase our students' motivation to learn”.
HORIBA’s commitment to advancing science education is deeply rooted in its broader mission of sustainability. The company’s mission, “Shaping our future with solutions based on HONMAMON*1 and diversity,” guides HORIBA’s efforts to foster scientific innovation while addressing global environmental challenges. Through analytical and measurement solutions, engineering expertise, and consulting services, HORIBA continuously strives to support a sustainable society.
Tetsuhiro Habe, Managing Director HORIBA Europe GmbH, shared his thoughts on the initiative: “As a global technology company, we hold a responsibility not only to our customers but also to society. This campaign demonstrates that sustainability begins with education – encouraging learning in a fun, creative, and impactful way.”
By fostering creativity and environmental awareness through education, HORIBA aims to inspire the next generation to tackle global challenges with confidence and innovation.
