DeltaDiode
Übersicht
The world's first 100MHz picosecond pulsed laser diode source with true plug-and-play interchangeable heads and USB interface
DeltaDiodes utilize laser diode and LED technology to generate short optical pulses over a very wide range of repetition rates and wavelengths. Optical pulses as short as 50ps can be generated at repetition rates up to 100MHz. State of the art features such as hot-swap heads, USB control and full software integration mean the DeltaDiode delivers the highest level of performance in the most user-friendly package available today.
The DeltaDiode range comprises a controller module and a range of easily interchangeable pulsed laser diode and LED heads, plus a selection of handy accessories such as fiber launchers and filters.
Most laser diode heads may (optionally) be operated in CW mode as well as pulsed mode.
Applications
- TCSPC excitation source
- Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging (FLIM)
- Fluorescence spectroscopy
- Detector response testing
- Quantum cryptography
Performance
DD-405L operating at 100MHz with an optical pulse duration <55ps. After pulse is characteristic of MCP detector.

- Spectral FWHM in pulsed mode typically <10nm, in CW mode <2nm.
- Pulse width refers to optical pulse duration measured at 20MHz repetition rate and default settings; in TCSPC the prompt FWHM is also a function of detector TTS.
- Peak power and average power are measured at maximum repetition rate and are typical values when new, peak power is calculated.
- To calculate typical pulse energy, divide average power (in Watts) by maximum repetition rate e.g. for DeltaDiode-375L pulse energy is 20pJ.
- To specify fibre launcher add –F suffix. To specify CW operation (where available) add –CW suffix.
- Specifications and appearance are subject to change without notice.
Additional features:
- Active stabilization of diode temperature in range 20ºC to 40ºC (user programmmable)
- Aspheric collimation lens, adjustable for focus and beam trajectory
- Vertically polarised output
- Mounting: 35mm bayonet coupling permits quick interchange, free rotation of beam polarisation, and ambient light exclusion; M4 threaded hole provided for optical table mounting.

Software
DeltaDiode is supplied with control panel software as shown below. For customers with HORIBA Scientific TCSPC systems, DeltaDiode may alternatively be controlled by DataStation for automatic selection of repetition rate to match the fluorescence lifetime of the sample under investigation.
32-bit and 64-bit drivers are provided and the control panel software operates on all versions of Windows from XP onward.
Note that a PC connection is not required to operate DeltaDiode as all parameters may be accessed via its front panel LCD display.
Zubehör
A range of accessories are available for use with DeltaDiode heads. Accessories are stackable so several may be used simultaneously.
Bandpass filters are available at most wavelengths
A mechanical shutter is included as standard on Class 3B laser heads and is available as an option for use with other heads.
Fiber launchers are available in three wavelength regions: <400nm, 400-600nm and >600nm. Please note that the fiber shown is not included. To specify a DeltaDiode laser with a pre-aligned launcher simply add the "-F" suffix to the order code. Fiber launchers may also be ordered separately and fitted to laser heads retrospectively. |
Bandpass filters are available at most wavelengths.
