MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: This position is within the Scientific Segment of HORIBA UK Ltd. The Technical Sales Specialist is responsible for managing the relationship of prospective customers to drive profitable growth in accordance with the strategic plan. The role works closely with the product specialist and applications teams to ensure customer requirements and commitments are achieved. This includes the identification and development of opportunities both in academia and industry for a range of spectroscopy (for example Raman and fluorescence / lifetime spectrometers) and allied products (particle size analysers and SPR) to the UK & Irish markets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assumes full ownership of the customer relationship (at various levels). Leverages industry/business knowledge to develop innovative ideas and solutions for customers. Manages customer expectations and provides clear, ongoing communication. Prospecting, progressing and closing sales together with after-sales customer support and equipment demonstrations. Some product promotional effort will be required including trade shows, product launches and sales campaigns. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be expected to be a highly motivated sales professional and to achieve clear sales targets. Interaction with customers will take place on a daily basis by means of telephone, email or face-to-face meetings. This is a challenging post which offers high rewards for success.
