Raman Boot Camp

HORIBA’s Raman Boot Camp is an intensive, hands-on training experience designed to rapidly sharpen your spectroscopy skills. Led by HORIBA’s expert Raman application scientists, this immersive program goes beyond fundamentals, teaching you how to fully leverage advanced instruments and software for real-world, lab-ready results.

You’ll work through real measurement challenges, strengthen your data interpretation skills, and learn how to consistently achieve the cleanest, highest-quality Raman data from your own system. This is tactical training for Raman scientists who want to troubleshoot with confidence and make smarter measurement decisions.

Day 1-2 Topics

Raman Fundamentals, Imaging, & Applications (May 12-13)

Classroom instruction and hands-on training with HORIBA Raman microscopes and LabSpec 6 software covering Raman fundamentals, instrumentation, measurement optimization, data acquisition, spectral interpretation, and hyperspectral imaging. Participants will practice sampling, focus, mapping, and imaging workflows on real samples under the guidance of expert Applications Scientists.

Optional Day 3

Choose ONE Advanced Topic (May 14)

1) Multivariate Analysis: PCA and clustering for complex spectra, mixtures, and hyperspectral datasets (polymers, pharmaceuticals, coatings).

2) Particle Correlated Raman Spectroscopy: Automated particle detection, sizing, morphology, and identification using ParticleFinder™ (microplastics, forensics investigations, pharma, batteries/carbons).
