
Nanobubbles are an emerging field that takes advantage of their unique properties of long term stability, along with efficient transfer of gases. Nanobubbles are generally smaller than 200 nm, and they are used in a variety of applications like wastewater treatment, agriculture, and medicine.
Nanobubbles can often be too low in concentration to measure with techniques like laser diffraction or dynamic light scattering, requiring a lower concentration technique like nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA). Measuring the size of nanobubbles is important as smaller sizes generally have greater stability and gas transfer ability. Measuring the concentration is important in evaluating the efficiency of the nanobubble generating process and in tracking the long-term stability.
In this application note, a nanobubble sample was measured with the ViewSizer 1000 Nanoparticle Tracking Analyzer.
