The HORIBA Group sincerely congratulates Distinguished Professor Susumu Kitagawa, Executive Vice-President of Kyoto University, on being awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Professor Kitagawa’s pioneering research on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), which he has devoted himself to for many years, holds immense promise for applications across various fields, including solving critical energy and environmental challenges and accelerating the development of new pharmaceuticals. MOFs are widely regarded as essential materials for realizing a sustainable society.
Since 2009, when HORIBA supplied a fluorescence spectrometer to Professor Kitagawa’s laboratory at the Department of Synthetic Chemistry and Biological Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, we have had the privilege of supporting his research through a diverse array of instruments, such as Raman spectrometers and particle size distribution analyzers.
We deeply respect Professor Kitagawa’s longstanding vision of using MOFs to alleviate the suffering of patients and to address environmental challenges, a dream he has taken a significant step toward realizing with this groundbreaking achievement. It is our great honor to have contributed, even in a small way, to his research and projects.
Once again, we offer our heartfelt congratulations to Professor Kitagawa on this distinguished honor and wish him continued success in all his future endeavors.
