3D Confocal Volume Imaging
3D Raman confocal volume imaging provides detailed chemical imaging of a sample’s internal features – without the need for labelling or other preparation. HORIBA Scientific’s true confocal Raman microscopes offer the best possible spatial resolution, ensuring minimum contribution from substrates and out-of-focus regions so that the resulting 3D volume images are clear, detailed and sharp.

3D Raman volume imaging typically acquires a Z-stack of XY images; the ensuing data cube is reconstructed into full 3D volume display using the integrated 3D Surface and Volume Display module within the LabSpec 6 spectroscopy software suite. Each voxel of the image contains a full Raman spectrum, which provides information on chemical composition, crystallinity, polymorphism and stress/strain.
